Digital Planning is not that much different from your regular physical planning where you make note of your appointments, daily schedule and general chores you have to complete. Or the diary you use to record birth dates, contacts, and finances. Digital planning is extremely similar to your regular pen and paper planning. Yet despite the similarity, what sets digital planning apart from regular planning, and by extension what makes it far superior, is the functionality, the accessibility and the all encompassing nature of digital planning.
Digital Planning’s Functionality
This may seem like a simple benefit, but is the number one factor that sets digital planning leagues above the traditional physical medium. So let’s say you plan out the things you have to do this upcoming week. For physical planning you will simply use your diary, simple and easy. However, as soon as you want to do anything more than the bare basic planning for your week, you run into problems. Let’s say you have a particularly hectic day; many physical planners have limited space so recording everything in a single day can actually be problematic. Alternatively if you want to plan out your day hour by hour, the planner just won’t have the template necessary to do this.
What if you want to record your dreams or schedule your sleep? What if you just want to write about your day, like an old fashioned diary. Modern “diaries” don’t really allow for that. Now digital planning has all of the above and more. It has space, for your reflections, your schedule, your day planned down to the hour, it has everything you could need. Also a lot of digital planners, like mine, are customisable so you can add and remove pages, so that you have the exact functionality you need!
PS. I also provide loads of templates you can use, so you will never need a certain type of page/tracker and not be able to find it.
Digital Planning’s Accessibility
The next huge benefit that digital planning has, is the accessibility. I’m sure everyone has reached for their diary, planner etc, and realised you left it at home, at work, or ev en at a coffee shop. But when was the last time you did that with your phone? It doesn’t happen, we always have our phones, tablets, laptops or computers, with us ready to connect to social media, talk to our friends, or even just for emergencies.
Digital Planning can span all these devices. Being able to check and add things to your schedule immediately is a huge win. Also if you get the right kind of digital planner, it can save to the cloud, which allows you to access your planner from all your devices, without having to ever transfer the document.
Digital Planning Can Be All Encompassing
The world we live in can be pretty overwhelming as we have so many responsibilities, activities, hobbies. Which makes it difficult to keep track of everything. This is why planning and organisation are so important. It allows us to keep to our schedules and fulfil all our goals. The problem is that when you want to have your weekly schedule, plan and track your exercise routine, record your sleep, and have a meal planner/recipe book; you need to have four or five different physical books to keep track of everything.
But if you use a digital planner? You’ll only need one comprehensive digital planner to keep track of everything. No need for multiple books, no need to sacrifice one element of your lifestyle because EVERYTHING is in one convenient location.
Digital Planning The Way of The Future
Digital Planning truly is the way forward for all things productivity and organisation. In this world where technology is adapting so quickly, you should too. I know it can be intimidating to make the switch to digital organisation, I also had my doubts in the beginning, but trust me once you go fully digital you will never go back.
If you are looking to try out digital planning, then you should have a look at my minimal undated weekly planner I have just released. It’s very easy to use, and I have a fully comprehensive explanation on how to use it. I’m also available if you have any questions.
I hope that I’ve helped you realise the extreme benefits of digital planning and that this makes you a bit more comfortable to embrace your new digitally organised life.
